 Makaatib

With the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very-Merciful.

Introduction of Anwarul Islam Trust (Makaatib)

Value of the Education:

The knowledge is light. The knowledge has power to make a responsible society. It provides a responsible citizen. We must acquire it. We must impart it. We must work to spread the knowledge among the rich and poor alike. We must try to play an active role in imparting the education either individually or under an orgnisation, if possible. If the members of a society and the citizens of a country are learned, educated and knowledgeable, none can stop that society and the country to reach the peak of the success, without any hurdle, obstacle and hindrance. Realizing the value of the education, well-known personality, Honourable Nelson Mandela said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Anwarul Islam Trust:

Anwarul Islam Trust is a Non-Government educational Organisation. It was established to spread the light of knowledge among the seekers of the knowledge. It is a great boon and bounty of Allah the Almighty for the Muslim Community of three Zambian provinces: Northern, Luapula and Muchinga. Presently it is running several Makaatib (It is plural of Maktab.) in several villages of the mentioned provinces above.

Objective and Goal of the Trust:

Al-Hamdulillah, the people of Dawah and Tabligh visit those areas to convey the peaceful messages of Islam. Following the struggle and effort, the Islam has reached most of the villages of the vicinity. The Muslim community of those villages needs some Muallims and Imams who can guide them and teach their children the basic of Islamic knowledge. The Trust runs Makaatib. It appoints Muallims and Imams in those villages to guide the Muslims of those villages and their children with Islamic Knowledge and enlighten their hearts with true and accurate peaceful messages of Islam as it is the objective and goal of the trust. So that, it will be easy for them to know, understand and practice Islam and Islamic teachings. Those Muallims and Imams impart basic Education to the children of Muslim community and lead Salaah in Masaajid. Currently in 2022, the number of Makaatib has reached 53. The Trust has appointed 58 Muallims for these Makaatib. They teach the kids in those Makaatib and they lead five times Salaah as well.

Number of the Pupils:

To make the works easy, all these 53 Makaatib are divided into five zones. 1: “Mpulungu Zone”, 2: “Nsumbu Zone”, 3: “Kaputa Zone”, 4: “Kampinda Zone” and 5: “Kasama Zone”. There is an inspector for each zone. The educational and other activities of each zone are inspected by the same inspector. In these 53 villages, where the Makaatib are run under the Trust, approximately 2,352 Muslim families are found. Their children reach the Makaatib to receive the basic Islamic Knowledge. The number of the pupils who attend the Makaatib is approximately 1,217. May the Almighty Allah accept this humble work! To continue this programme, we need your Duaas.
